THE COMPANY PROFILE
China Shipping (Australia) Agency Co. P/L (CSAA) is the agency representing China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) in Australia. This is an exclusive agency arrangement set up to deliver a vastly improved shipping alternative to North Asia, East Asia & South East Asia.
CSAA is wholly owned subsidiary of China Shipping Group & was first registered in December 1998 to facilitate the entry of CSCL into the Australian East Coast market in April 1999. CSAA offices have been established in Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane and Adelaide. This new service was the first of the deep-water services to be initiated by CSCL. Up until this time, CSCL had concentrated solely on the inter-Asia shipping lanes.
Upon entry into the Australian market the following port rotation has served the Line & it’s customers for both export & import traffic:
Export we offer weekly sailings from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to China (in excess of 85 ports via Shanghai and Hong Kong), Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Philippines via two separate services.
Import we offer weekly sailings from direct ports in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and feeder services from an extensive range of Chinese origins as well as Manila, Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh. The two separate services covering the above ports call at Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane on a ‘fixed day’ weekly sailings.
The weekly schedule is supported by a strong agency network in Australia and throughout Asia whilst an extensive network of China Shipping offices covers all main Chinese locations.
We have a large range of equipment options including 20′ and 40′ general, reefer and 40′ high cube containers. Special equipment (i.e. open-tops, flat-racks) can be provided, subject to availability.
The Head Office of CSAA is located in Sydney & is the site of the centralized operation. All customer service, documentation, accounting, container control, and ship operations are run from this location.
Centralization ensures that we have enough people to deliver the service levels required in today’s competitive market. The added advantage of this is that we have been able to attract the highest calibre of people to our organization.
Whilst we can be contacted on one of our three 1800 numbers, we also understand that there are times that the local touch is required. Our offices in Melbourne and Brisbane are not only sales offices, but are staffed by experienced people who are highly regarded in their local industry.
As a division of the China Shipping Group, China Shipping Container Lines owns in excess of 100 container vessels as well as chartered-in tonnage with the overall capacity of in excess of 150,000 Teu as well as operating dozens of domestic and international routes between China and Australia, Europe, Japan, Korea, South East Asia, Middle East, Africa and North America. This company has formed a network which owns the most direct calls in China and biggest freight capacity amongst its competitors into all global destinations.
